# Motivation

Blockchain technologies have significantly matured, inspiring entirely new financial and economic paradigms. Nevertheless, despite the rapid evolution individual blockchain networks often exist as isolated entities, creating what is widely recognized as the problem of blockchain "silos". This fragmentation limits the broader economic potential of decentralized technologies by restricting liquidity, innovation, and user engagement to isolated networks. Interoperability between blockchains has thus emerged not merely as a technical convenience, but as an economic and strategic necessity.

The choice to focus Skyline specifically on Cardano and EVM-based chains arises from strategic and technological considerations. Cardano, Apex Fusion’s Prime and Apex Fusion’s Vector blockchains utilize sophisticated, robust UTXO models, inherent scalability, and potential for complex smart contract implementations written in Haskel, while Apex Fusion’s Nexus, Base and BNB Smart chain inherit all the benefits of EVM based chains.Bridging these different ecosystems opens significant opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and economic growth.

Skyline enables token bridging not only between UTXO-based chains or different EVM chains, but also directly between UTXO-based and EVM-based chains, significantly expanding cross-chain compatibility.
